Out of more than 13 million tonnes of zinc consumed in the world annually, over 60 per cent went to galvanizing. While the construction and infrastructure industries are thus the biggest users of zinc, the automotive and electronics industries are also important end-users, and today China accounts for around half of global zinc consumption. No matter how zinc is used, it is highly recyclable
